Incident Synopsis
Just after 11:30 am Wednesday morning FF’s responded to a report of a structure fire @ the Ashley Place Apartments. Heavy smoke could be seen from several miles away. Upon their arrival FF’s observed heavy smoke and fire issuing from this two-story apartment building. The volume of fire dictated that the Incident Commander request a second alarm assignment which brought additional resources. It took FF’s just under 30 minutes to control this blaze, which caused considerable damage estimated at $150K. The cause of the blaze has been determined to be accidental and began in the kitchen. Approximately 20 people were displaced as a result of this fire. The adult female occupant of the apartment was treated on scene for smoke inhalation. There were no other injuries to report.
