Shortly before 11 am Thursday morning Charlotte FF’s were called to service for reports of fuel tanker on fire on Old Mt. Holly Rd in Northwest Charlotte. Charlotte FF’s along with our Haz-Mat Teams were able to quickly extinguish the fire and confine the leak to the immediate area. After more than three hours the Charlotte Fire Department Haz-Mat Team working with the fuel transport company was able to complete the task of off-loading the gasoline from the damaged tanker to another nearby tanker that was brought in for the operation. Other agencies who responded to this incident included CMPD, Charlotte Mecklenburg Emergency Management, Medic, CSX Railroad, North Carolina Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Division, Mecklenburg County EPA, and Duke Energy
