Incident Synopsis
Just before 5:30 am Wednesday morning, a neighbor called the Charlotte Fire 911 center stating the home behind them was on fire. Firefighters arrived and reported heavy fire and smoke conditions coming from this two-story home. While advancing hose lines to contain the fire the family dog, a “Chow” named “Klaus” was rescued from the 1-floor of this home. The fire was brought under control in about forty-five minutes, however not before the blaze caused extensive damage estimated at $175K. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental traced to an electrical problem inside.
