Incident Synopsis
Just before 6 Tuesday evening Charlotte Firefighters responded to reports of a structure fire at the Sharon South Townhomes in South Charlotte. Firefighters from nearby Station 20 were first to arrive and reported heavy smoke and flames coming from this 3-Story townhome. The fire quickly escalated to a 2nd Alarm assignment because of the heavy fire involvement. A male occupant believed to home alone at the time of the incident sustained significant traumatic injuries after jumping from the third floor to escape the fire. He was transported to CMC. It took over 40 Firefighters about 25 minutes to control the fire which caused approximately $30 0$40,000 in damage. There were no other injuries to report. The fire started in the kitchen of this structure and was caused by food left cooking unattended. A total of 12 people were displaced and the Red Cross was on scene assisting those who needed temporary housing.

Incident Synopsis
Just before 3:00 Tuesday afternoon Charlotte Firefighters were called to service for a kitchen fire in Northwest Charlotte. Firefighters from nearby Station 18 were first to arrive and reported heavy smoke coming from this 1-story home. It took firefighters just over 20 minutes to bring this fire under control but, not before the fire caused an estimated $60,000 in damage. An elderly female occupant of this home was treated on the scene for smoke inhalation but, was not transported. The fire started in the kitchen and was caused by food left cooking unattended. The resident was displaced as a result of the fire and will reside with family members.
