Edit Post
Charlotte NC – Soon after firefighters rolled furniture and other belongings into their new quarters, Engine 42 rolled out responding to calls for service.
Charlotte Fire Station 42, an 11,958 square foot 3-bay state of the facility opened on January 30th and is located at 5620 Central Avenue (across from the former Eastland Mall). Station 42 houses Battalion 4, Engine 42 and services east Charlotte including the Central Avenue, Sharon Amity Road, Albermarle Road, and Independence Boulevard corridors. Since opening, Station 42 is experiencing a steady call volume and allows the Fire Department to maintain an acceptable level of service for the growing population density of east Charlotte.
Fire Station 42 features some of the latest green and energy efficient technology that includes a white reflective membrane roof, solar assist hot water system, and awnings over exterior windows. Other energy efficient features include an insulated concrete wall system, low-flow water faucets & toilets, and a Hi-efficiency HVAC system.
Eternally committed to duty and service,
